1. Overview

Cronos Wallet is a non-custodial wallet. Your private keys and seed phrase are created and stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to Cronos servers. You control your keys and, as a result, your assets.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we process, how it is used, and which choices are available to you. It applies to the Cronos Wallet desktop application, browser extension, and related web pages, including the Documentation and News sections.

2. Data we collect

2.1. Data you provide directly

  • Contact information. If you reach out via support channels, we may receive your email address and any information you voluntarily include in your message.
  • Feedback. Feedback submitted in the app or in the docs portal (e.g., page ratings or issue reports) may include basic metadata such as your app version or platform.

2.2. Wallet & on-chain data

  • Public blockchain data. Addresses, transactions, token balances and on-chain interactions are publicly accessible by design. Cronos Wallet displays this information but does not alter its public visibility.
  • Locally stored secrets. Your seed phrase and private keys are encrypted and stored locally. They are never transmitted to Cronos servers and cannot be accessed by our team.

2.3. Usage & telemetry data

To diagnose issues, improve performance and understand high-level product usage, we may process limited telemetry such as:

  • app version and OS (Windows, macOS, Linux),
  • non-identifying event data (“swap started”, “network switched”),
  • performance metrics and crash reports.

This telemetry never includes seed phrases, private keys, full transaction data or wallet addresses.

3. How we use your information

  • Operating the wallet. Telemetry helps diagnose issues, maintain RPC connectivity, and ensure that core flows (transactions, approvals, swaps) function reliably.
  • Improving performance and UX. Aggregated usage data highlights where flows fail, which versions crash, and where we should focus improvements.
  • Support interactions. If you contact support, we use your information only to resolve your request.
  • Compliance. In limited cases, data may be processed to comply with applicable regulatory or legal obligations.

4. Analytics and opt-out

Non-essential analytics can be disabled from the Settings panel inside Cronos Wallet. Essential telemetry used for fraud-prevention or service stability cannot always be disabled.

  • You may opt out of non-critical diagnostics and feature-usage telemetry.
  • We avoid analytics tools that aggregate activity across unrelated apps.

5. When we share data

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be shared with trusted partners in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. Secure infrastructure, analytics or error-tracking vendors acting strictly on our behalf.
  • Security & abuse prevention. Where necessary to investigate harmful behavior, fraud or platform abuse.
  • Legal requirements. When mandated by law or valid legal request.

6. Storage and retention

  • Local secrets. Your seed phrase and private keys remain on your device until you reset or uninstall the wallet.
  • Telemetry. Retained only as long as needed for debugging and security analysis.
  • Support data. Retained according to operational and compliance requirements.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights such as access, deletion or correction of personal data. To submit a request, contact us through the Contact section. Verification may be required.

For common wallet questions, you may find faster answers in the FAQ or Install Guide.

8. Children

Cronos Wallet is intended for adult users capable of managing digital assets. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date and may be communicated through the wallet or via announcements in the News section.
